for Information Services workstations
- The reservation system allows each user a total of 120 minutes per day. This can be used in sessions of up to 60 minutes at a time. The computer will give a warning before the end of the session, and then log off when your time is up.
- The Express computers on the Reference Desk can be used in sessions of 15 minutes at a time, which count toward your total daily minutes.
- It is possible to extend a session if no one else is waiting, except on the Express computers.
- If you log off before the end of your session, the system will round up the time used to the nearest 10 minute increment. You can still use your remaining time for that day.
- Reservations are held for 5 minutes. If you don't log on within five minutes of your scheduled time, the system will release the computer for someone else.
- If you leave the computer for a brief time, be sure to lock it: click on "lock" at the top, and create a password. This will hold the computer until you return.
- Please click on "done" when you are finished.
- You must have an adult or young adult library card to use the computers. Computers for Children age 14 and under are available in the Children's Department. When the Children's Room is closed, children may use the adult computers, but only if an adult parent or guardian is with them during the entire session.
- Anyone who displays material considered harassing to other users or staff will be asked to leave the computer.
- For non-cardholders, guest reservations (one a day) may be available through the Reference Desk. There is a limit of 5 guest passes per person per year.
- Telephone reservations for the next two days may be called into the Reference Desk (587-1012) if you have your card ready when you call.
- We do not maintain or track information on library patrons or computer use. The reservation system is only to make sure everyone gets an equal chance for time.
