Finding Biographical Materials in the Library

Forbes Library uses the Cutter Expansive Classification system to order books throughout the library. Under this system you will find biographies shelved under the following call numbers:

EGeneral Biography
FMonarchs, royalty (interfiled with other historical materials, consult catalog for complete call numbers)
VA‑VKAthletes (interfiled with other materials on sports, consult catalog for complete call numbers)
VVBiographies of Musicians
WABiographies of Artists

A librarian can help you if you can't find the biography you need. Please ask at the reference desk or contact us.

Materials with these call numbers can be found in the reading room (new books), on the mezzanine, in the reference collection, in the children's room, and in our collection of documentary films.
